they do make 1.7 rr's just not for 3/8 stud

o0o alright..thanks a lot for the help guys..ima gonna think about everything over the weekend while im taking my top end apart and make a final decision on all the parts.

can i use the old hydraulic lifters for the new cam? and btw how do i remove the old lifters.

rlly anywhere from 330-370hp to the crank..big range but you can never be sure..and harland sharp doesnt make 1.7's for the small block ford..only for the BBF

take a rag and pull them out with you're fingers..and thats right forgot they make 1.7's..cuz they make them only in 3/8 is prob why i forget all the time..

your gunna do this soon i take it..and what year is the block, is it a roller block..if not ur gunna have to do a conversion..

Harland sharp rockers are awesome.

If you want a comp cam, call comp directly for a cam recommendation. With a carb car, I wouldn't run anything close to what people normally run in their EFI cars. For one thing you can go with a lot tighter lobe center, lose a little vacuum, a lot more duration, and more aggressive ramping. One of the main advantages of going carb is that you are not limited to computer compliant cams.

The nice thing about crower cams is they make cams with a lot of duration, but with moderate lift so you don't get into trouble with piston to valve clearance.

For example a comparable cam to the comp mentioned above would be
Crower 15513 288° 298° @ 0.050" 228° 234° 0.512'' 0.531'' 112° Lobe center

Or Crower 15514 298° 304° @ 0.050" 234° 240° 0.534'' 0.545'' 110° lobe center

yeaa i plan on doing it soon..and it is a roller block..im not really sure if the block is a H.O. one or not lol..and yeahh i guess ill give comp a call and see what they recommend.
