Swap engine from 82 mustang into 95 mustang

Can a 302 from an 82 mustang be dropped into a 95 mustang with a V6 with little work? Can the auto tranny in the 95 be used with the 302? I would not be using any of the computer or electronic crap just going carbed!

yes it fits right in..i think youll need new motor mounts and the raditor might hold up along with the fan im not completely sure..and as for the tranny i would just get a junk yard t 5 idk if that tranny will last long especially if you plan on doing mods..

A stock '82 V8 has 157HP. You'd be better off starting with an 87-95 motor as they have ~225HP depending on the year.

i still think underrated the 302..225 seams a little low for the way a stock 5.0 pulls..yeah do it on if its an 85-95 motor, 89-92 had forged pistons, and 93 had hypertaunic..or just build a stroker..hey jordan..yay CHP street fighter!!!

Now what should an engine like that with 3:73 gear or 4:10 using a TCI C-6 street fighter auto tranny run in the 1/4 mile? Also using 26X10 ET Drag slicks.
