Tire Setup

Anyone here know if M/T 255/50/R16 Radials mounted on 16x8-in '95 Cobra R wheels will fit in back of a fox?

if i can fit 275/40/17s on 17by9 03 cobra wheels on my fox i dont see why your setup wouldnt fit.you definitelyshouldnt have a problem

A 255/50/16 is only about 1/4 inch taller then a 275/40/17 which means it will only sit up in the fender well about an 1/8 in more. It is also just over 3/4 of an inch narrower so with the same rim backspacing, it would be 3/8 in further away from the fender and the quad shocks if still installed.

Those numbers do not mean it will fit but the two are not that different in height.

jasons rims are 17's and stangs are 16's...there one difference..and another added to that jasons tires have smaller tread hight..so means stang can fit bigger tires..

but technically you could fit 15X10 with 295/50/15's but with a little fender messaging..actually alot..

I did the math which included the different rim sizes.
What is the tread height difference between the two tires?

well...im a hop and a skip away from buying an 88 gt and i already have the wheels. Two of the wheels already have 245/50-16 tires on em...I intend on using those in the front. I just wanted to mount some et streets in the back for more traction... I'd run welds, but i'd be cheaper to work with what i have for the time being so i wanted to mount the streets on the cobra Rs and make do.. but Thanks for the help guys...i really appreciate it.
