This is my other car.....62 Mercury

I beat my old record. It was about 55 degrees outside. Great racing weather. I mounted a camera in the car. I got some good footage. Come take a ride in my merc.....ENJOY

I've always struggled to get in the 12.30's

My old best was a 1.80 60' and 12.410@108 1/4 always in the 1.80's 60'

I felt the tire spin just a tad. My auburn posi is broke. But it still launches hard.

What tire and tire pressure are you using? If you are spinning at 1.75 60' it is time for a better tire or lower tire pressure or both.

I have 26x10.5 M/T et streets. Running 17lbs of pressure...New tires

I need a Detroit Locker. My posi is broke....toast.....Only doing a one wheel burnout in the waterbox

Drop your pressure to about 11 PSI and go down from there. Also set your pressure immediately after the run when the tires are still warm, not when they are cold.

I get my best 60 foots at about 8 PSI. Your posi will help you, but I think it is your tire pressure that is really hurting you, especially in the cooler weather.

If I tried to launch as hard as I do with 17 PSI in my tires I'd do a 60 foot burnout. With 8 PSI I dump the clutch at 5000 rpms with the spray on and it just rips forward, I have 26 x 11.5 MT ET Streets and pull consistent low 1.5 60 foots.

I'll have to try that next time I go. I really didn't mess with tire pressure much last night.
