How much HP does Electric fan add???


How much HP do you guys think or know for a fact?I am debating on getting one now or waiting.Thanks for any help.

Not anything over 10 I would say somewere aroung 5-8 you wont notice much if anything at all

yeah..i'd say about 3-5hp, 1mpg better, drain more pwr from alt and battery??? for $250...not worth it!!!

i dont think it adds power it just relieves power hidden in your engine. just upgrade to a 3g alt and ull be good.

Exactly it just relases power that is already being use by the belt it adds power just like unddrive pulleys

i just bought a taurus fan for $25 and a controller for $40, My 92 ssp coupe has a 130 amp alt. from the factory so I should be good to go. I think it would atleast free up 5hp. My factory fan blade has about 50 hairline cracks in it.

There is no horsepower gain, you are just transferring the drag from the water pump pulley to the alternator pulley.

The only advantage of an electric fan is that it is only on when it needs to be (if you wire it with a temp switch), and you can let it run when your engine is off to cool things down faster at the track.

it does several things ..1 it take wt and wear and tear off your water pump
2. it takes a slight decrease in wieght off the rotating mass
