Help!!!Serious Charge problems

I am having some serious charging problems. First of all I just got back from BC about 1500kms both ways. Everything was fine until about 400 kms return trip. My battery light came on. Which means that it is not charging. At first it would charge then not charge for about an hour off and on like this, becoming more frequent until the batt light came on permenently. Unless the revs are over 3,000 rpm (Some times that wouldn't even work). Now it will not charge at all. Luckly I made it home, but with a completely dead battery. I just got a new rebuilt alternater 3 months ago, new deep cycle battery 2 months ago which is located in the trunk, useing 2 g wire. All the wires to the alternater and battery seem to be okay. I also have under drive pulleys which I got about 3 months ago. The pulley caused the battery to be a little undercharged from the begining.

Yeah that's what I am thinking. Could it be the underdrive pulleys as well. How can I check to se if it is the alternater?

rev the engine to 2000rpm and then full field the alternator buy grounding the regulator screw on the back. If the alt is good, it will charge wide open. Or remove the alternator assembly & take the alt to autozone and have them ck it on their machine to see if it's charging correctly. Most of the u/d pulleys for the alternator limit their charging ability quite a bit. You can put the stock pulley back on the alt and it will improve
