wanting to by newer stang what do you guys think?
I am going to sell my durango and i am looking into a 94-95 cobra I think i want to stayy with 5.0 because i no them what do you guys think of the 4.6 I will be using it as a daily driver. Would i be better with a gt and adding power or cobra wich do you think would be cheaper? I like the cobra look though i never liked the newer body but i have grown to like it and want something a litlle moreconfortable then my fox was thinking maybe a vert thoughwill proble end up with one off ebay unless i come across good deal wanting to stay under $9,000ether way i go for now

all right man, I got a 95 and a 00, i know the 5.0 way better than the 4.6 but for mods on a pi 4.6 and up it dont take much to get good power, it is great on gas compared to my 5.0 and it hangs with my buddy 5.0. mine is stock except a cai and flowmasters, his has Intake manifold TB Injectors mass air UD pullies full exhaust and 3.73s shift kit and and few more things, i will never get rid of my 5.0 "its paid off" but i love my 4.6 as well, a tb plenum and cai with full exhaust and 4.10s and your running good. if you do 4.6 go 99 or higher nice hp diff "like 30 or so" from the 96-98

thanksya my 86 has benn paid for for 10 years and will be paying cash for the new one evry one thinks ian nuts selling my 2000 durango 6" lift and 33s before winter and buying a stang lol oh well i was woundering what kind of miladge the 5.0 gets compared to 4.6 I dont no i will do much to the motor i got the 86 for that but might do supercharge or turbo if i can get one for the right price i was always under the impression 94-95 cobras where supercharged dn why

I would go for the newer stang since its a dd.they will get better gas mileage and you should be able to find one in great shape unlike most 5.0's

no they are almost the same as the gts but got a diff intake manifold "the cobra one" and the heads with a diff cam if i am not mistaken.... it is good for an extra 30 35 hp over the gt, and for a 4.6 man some many people just slap on FI on them and boom 400hp they mod nicely, on mine once i am dun with the 5.0 i am going to do a tb and plenum, full exhasut and novi 2000, and be done with it and hall balls... but like i said before my almost stack 4.6 was neck and neck with my buddies 95 5.0 and he has a lot done to it. i thought he would pull me cause of his 3.73s to my 3.27s from the factory but i huge right there. on the 99 and up "Dont know about the other 4.6s" there is a nice power band from 3000 up to 6000ish, you can really feel it. Good luck with your choise. I too sold a dodge ram 1500 with a 3in lift and 33's lol i had the 318 in her. loved her to death. but the first v8 i ever heard was a 95 mustang, so i had to have one Love ever since...

You can find some 99 and up at some low prices.. i saw one for 6000! you just gott look i guess, if you get a 96-98 you might want to do a PI swap and then youll be good.... unless you want a DD only with no mods

yea i dislike v6s with the duals and crazy body kits and then there slower than a turd.... i was going to buy a DD mustang like a 6 or something but i cant do it if i want a 6 i will go with a mazda 6 or something like that... i have gotten around 19mph city and around 28-29mph highway "in my 4.6"

yup my 2001 dodge ram got 8-9 city and like 14 highway,... the 318 had to work a lil harder ya know, but damm they sounds good...

there is a 98 cobra around here for 8000 with 125k i seems like a good deal (i thought about buying this)
but the way i look at it 32 valves is alot to break......The gt motor is a single over head cam 2v or 3v and the cobra motor is a dual over head cam 32valve. the way i see it there is alot more to break on those motors vs a 5.0 |
