Leaking crank seal and choppy front tires?

I think my tech is trying to bs me into getting new tires. He rated my front as 9's and the back as 7's. I just bought a front one a year ago and listed the front ones as choppy. What does this mean?

What is a crank seal and what happens when they leak? How major is this?

Thanks

i dont know what he meant about the tires, but the crank seal is easy to replace. it will leak a little oil and just get worse over time.

the inside edges are probably "feathered " from not being able to rotate from front to rear, if they're not directional swap from left to right if you worried about the wear
