+5 on the 347, and put a turbo on top of that, its streetable with boost control and they are EXTREMLEY badass, go with like a 76mm, that should put you in the perfect efficiancy range of the turbo and be making around 500-550, but then you looking at a new block, so on second thought, if you want the stock block maybe go with like a 67, and make around 450 and then if you were to get a new block you could still crank it up a little more

Did you have one that smoked? If so you need a new engine builder. Spreading misinformation like this gives people the wrong ideas. There is nothing wrong with a 347. They are not prone to early failure or oil burning and I really wish you people that have no experience with internal combustion engines would quit fabricating these stories.

fabricated??? everybody knows a 347 is a smoke machine and won't last as long as a 331.... i didn't say mine smoked, just the redneck racers at the track, i know there's those low ring pistons that prevent smokin but they're prone to failure right? you pretty smart darrell but they do smoke after daily driving.... lots of power and high reving mofo!!! you never seen one smoke darrell????

There is no reason a 347 would smoke or burn more oil than any other motor if it's built right. The piston pin/ring issue has been taken care of by alot of manufacturers like Probe.

omg quit talking if you havent had one darrel has run many 347's in his day. And that was what they did back in the day they have solved all this oil ring bullshit and im tired of everybody saying that a 347 sucks b/c they dont.Like the old saying goes dont knock it till ya try it,and coming in here calling it a smoke machine they were not a smoke machine you have a very wrong idea ytes they smoked some but were not smolke mahines b/c they smoked alittle.Almost everybody has solved this oil ring issue with a shorter rod or the piston manufacter has moved the oil ring farther up on the piston.Quit giving everybody the wrong idea about stuff if you have never had one.

and why do you say everybody knows a 347 is a smoke machine

Ok, so just wondering.... what happens when you race a 347 with a 150 shot? Or a 408 with a 150 shot?

Exactly...
