Has anyone used that kit that switches the radio and A/C?
I always thought this would be a good idea and finally i saw it on a website. The kit i'm talking about refers to 87-93 mustangs. It puts the radio in place of the A/C controls, and moves the A/C controls down where the radio was.
Is it easy enough to install? And which website was it? |

haha.....the kit allows you to move the radio where the A/C and Heat Knobs are, so it's more convenient. And it allows you to move the A/C and Heat Knobs to where the radio is. Get it?

I know what you are talking about. A few months ago there was a discussion about them with a link to a specific site that made them but I can't find it now.
EDIT: Is this the site? http://www.gaugeplates.com/ford_fox.php

i bought one and still have it. its made of hard plastic. i dont like it cause it doesnt allow the a/c nobs to light up. so i bought the one where it puts the radio in the middle and the three gauges in the bottom. i put three auto meter gauges in it and it looks cool. the other one i have has a small crack in which you can not see unless i show you. i am tring to sell it for about $50. the crack is very small.

Cool, i have 2 questions: 1) Do they sell any without the Guage holes? 2) Why doesn't it allow the knobs to light up? I thought it lets you move the whole A/C mechanism down and the light is built in? |

i aloows you to move the whole a/c unit but, all of setting(vent, floor, defrost, exc..) are laser carved in so it sets on top of the old and you just slide the nobs on. they are not cut all the way through for the light to shine through. so, you cant see the setting unless you have an extior light.

Oh, I gotcha now. Wow that's cheesy though. You think they would go the extra mile to make it look regular. I mean they did make it for a mustang so why not some transparent colors for the controls instead of lazer engraved. Oh well if you guys have any ideas or if they sell something that lets the controls light up, let me know.........thanks. |
