-a good tune up with the right parts and the correct weight oil (5w30). also advance your timing.

-get all the junk out of your car. extra weight kills fuel economy. also air your tires up to the max recommended psi (shown on the sidewall).

-make sure everything on your car is functioning properly. Check for Codes.

-don't drive like an ass. more pedal pressure means more wasted fuel.
actually you're kinda wrong..the more inconsistant you are w/ the pedal, off on off on...the more you use...if you keep it steady it wont use that much..
right. so how am i wrong?

ok im a nerd and i watch mythbuster......they did the one where you draft behind a tractor and trailor and see how much mpg's you gain. at 100 feet its about 20% but at 10 feet its 40%. if you have a calm foot i would get to about 25 to 30 feet thats around 2 car lengths.....you have to have a steady foot......just some info.....DONT KILL YOUR SELF BY GETTING TO CLOSE

i said cuz you KINDA wrong..you said the more pedal pressure means more wasted fuel..not totally true...as long as you consistantly as same pressure of pedal it wont hurt fuel very much at all..you where just slightly wrong!

not even slightly wrong. i meant less pedal pressure as in less average pedal pressure, which means consistently less pedal pressure. of course "gas on/gas off" isn't gonna improve fuel economy. a consistent light pedal effort will result in the least average pedal pressure which will result in decreased fuel consumption.

i guess i should have been clearer, but i didn't think we were gonna get caught up in symmantics.
