Yeah, I think what he is saying is that you can buy a whole short block 408 for the price of just the block for an aftermarket 302...

well that link that ryans88gt put up was for the 408 block and full rotating assembly......thats what i was referring to as the bottom end.......it was 2300 compared to that price you just quoted of that block of 2900

i know..you said a 408 bottom end...crank, pistons, connecting rods ect.. cost as much as an aftermarket 302 block!!! $2300 FOR A BOTTOM END...i dont even think eagle's 4340 forged bottem end it even that price!!!

that link he put up was for a 408 shortblock and it is less than a 302 dart block
