Who really knows about mustangs?

Hey I have a question for someone who really knows mustangs....Here in Mexico for example the jeeps that are built here will not fit parts that are made for the jeeps built in the US. A friend found this out with a water pump.... My mustang was built here .....only difference I see is that the gauges are in KM....will parts like the trickflow kit and supporting mods bolt up or am i SCREWED? Anybody that knows this answer please let me know and Thanks

i dont think that they would make any of the major parts different.heads intake mani.....maybe the water pump and battery, spark plugs but as far as the block it should not be different....i don't know if mexico is on summits list...lol if anything how far from the border are you. Maybe you can set up a po box just over the line and pick them up....

People use the mexican blocks here in the US because they are supposed to be stronger. I think all of the major parts are interchangeable.

Might just have the thing. If you haver an Autozone down their go and they have a new system called ZNET. its the shit. quite accurate rarely is wrong. But, look up your car and when you go to choose the engine type and stuff from the drop down list it tells next to the engine if it was from mexico or what not. In doing so pull up the american part number for it and the mexican part number for it. pull the two parts and you can see everything from the way they mount to your block to the design of them and etc. I use to worked their and loved playing around doing that, lol. Have fun

The only difference i have ever heard of between the Mexican and the US 5.0 motor is the Mexican has a higher nickel????content or something of that sort i do know it got more of a certian metal in it that makes it handle more power I also think it weighs more. Its kinda like the Teksid 4.6 and the Romero 4.6 somehow the manufacturer of the teksid used the same mold and made the aluminum denser so its stronger.....too complex for my simple mind.

Thats the old 302s circa 1970. A UAW strike in the 70s sent the forging down there. The steel has a higher nickel content.
The same strike is resposible for cars like the Pontaic Beaumont (essentialy a modified Chevelle-google it they're cool)

Not even sure Mexico was still casting in the 80s
