Holley carb help!


http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku is that carb fine for a 306 with heads etc. or should I get a 4150 650cfm holley instead.I am getting the other carb for a good deal.Thanks for any help.

Buy the non-remanned one, it's only $30 more. A 600 will be great for a 306.

100% volumetric efficiency = 567 cfm = 302 CID * 6500 rpms /3456

running at 7000 rpms and 100% VE you would only need 611 CFM.

Since your engine is at best going to get 90% VE a 600 is an excellent choice for a 306 going up to 7000 rpms. If you are going to rev past 7000, get the 650. You'll have better driveability with the 600.

Thanks a lot I didnt plan on getting the reman one its just the first I found on summit thats 4776 I am getting a new one for 175 from a local place.Thanks again because I am not going to rev up past 7000 for sure.

Be careful what you buy when it comes to carbs. You cannot buy one new for much less than $300.
