Headers and exhaust

I am in the middle of putting a summit o/r H-pipe and a flowmaster American Thunder on my 5.0 and i hit a snag when i broke the blots on my stock headers flang where it bolts up and beat the shit out of them tryin to get it to work so i need new headers asap so...

1. Will the 1993 headers(pre 94) from bbk work? i dont have egr anymore so i dont really want to have to plug the hose on the new headers.

2. What is the hp difference between equal length and shorty?

3. What are other brands should or shouldnt I look at?

4. Should i get ceramic coating? how big of a difference will ti make?

i dont want to hear anything about LTs they will bottom out at school and i dont have the money for them along with a new H pipe.

Thanks Alot and all of you guys have been a huge help!

1) i think it wont work cuz mid-pipe is a little different..

2) minimal difference, and unequals are like $75 more!

3) Hooker, hedmen, MAC (isnt too bad) and bassani...but i say just do BBK

4) Ceramic coating for sure, they will last longer, keep more exhuast in headers..also, chrome turns blue then rusts..so do ceramic

and bout LT's, with stock exhuast or low amount of lowering from springs you wouldnt have a problems..but there are other down sides..the cheapest i think you can land ceramic shortys is a little over $200
