5 lug conversion

Got a 93 GT. Looking to convert the 4 lugs to 5 lugs and possibly disc brakes out back. Haven't had drum brakes for a while and want to be able to stop decently. What's the cost effective swap($$) and what tips do you guys have to make it a simple process?

You could prolly find a wrecked SN95+ mustang with disc rear-end and take the whole rear end, brake booster, and master cylinder...Then you would have a good start on the swap and prolly would be alot cheaper...

For the front all you need is Mark VII rotors. The rear would be a pair of 5 lug axles from a Ranger or Aerostart (I forget which side, but you need the both from one of them). Those would be drum though. There are some Mustang parts houses that sell Cobra kits for the rear disc... pretty expensive though. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use the SN95 rear end because it's wider. Maybe you could use it will different backspacing rims, I dunno.

I have heard that the 1988 - 2004 used the same 8.8 rear end...But I could be wrong...

the axle tubes on the foxs are slightly shorter than the sn-95 8.8's

Front:
79-86 and 87-93 4cyl Mustangs - use 4cyl 83-92 Ranger rotors

87-93 V8 Mustangs - use 85-91 Lincoln Mark VII rotors

Rear:
79-93 Mustangs - use '83-'92 4 cylinder/3.0 V6 Ranger/Bronco II left (driver) side axle and drums or '86-'97 Aerostar right (passenger) side axles and drums
