Huge PITA horn problem
This morning at about 6:30 am, I was walking out to my '88 5.0 GT to start it to get the frost off the windows. It was about 25-30 degrees F. I was walking towards it and was about ten feet from it when the horn just started going off. No pauses or anything, just like someone was holding it down. I hadn't even touched the car when it happened. Theres no remote system or anything on the car either. I opened the door(horn still blaring) and hit the horn button on the steering wheel to see if that was the problem. Kept going off. I opened the hood and disconnected the battery cable and it stopped. This is how I left it. How do I fix this? Whats the problem? And by the way, I just got the car about 2 weeks ago and this is the coldest morning i have owned it, if that means anything. Thanks

the foam in the horn pad deteriorated and made contact. pull it off and disconnect the wires.

I don't know your problem but my neighbor has a Ford van and it does that as well, mostly in the morning and evening so I assume the temperature change is causing it. I see them going in and shaking the steering wheel to get it to stop.

Yep its the horn button on your steering wheel. Just pull it off and replace it. It snaps off. Just grab it and pull it off. Behind is two wires disconnect them for now till you find it's replacment. I had the same problem with mine. I found one at http://www.foxmustangrestoration.com/
