t5 bell housing


wat size and grade the the bolts that connet the tranny to the bellhousing

Grade 8 on everything no reasone not to as far as size cant help ya but someone will i whant to say 1/2 but not sure and you can tell they are grade 8 by the 5 points on the head although not all are equal we have a farm and fleet there bolts are shit i can snap a 1/2 grade 8 with a ratchet

I would use grade 8 if possible, but you should be able to find the right Ford bolts at a dealership parts counter. Might cost a couple of bucks more than the local hardware store, but IMHO well worth the extra hassle and money. That's what I would do. Just make sure the thread is right, whatever you do. Also, if I remember right, one of the bolts is a little longer than the others.

I trusted someone that should have known what he was doing to do my clutch a few years back and he stripped one of the holes in the housing using an incorrect bolt with a coarser thread (upper right - try installing a heli-coil in THAT hole without removing the housing!).

Moral of the story - use the right bolt and don't trust anyone with your car that you wouldn't trust with your bank account info.

im doin the work myself i just need the thread size ill double check my chilton and haynes to see if its in there.
