blueprinting

isnt blueprinting and internally balancing the samthing.....and if so isnt it where all the rotating assembly balanced....the reason why im asking is because im getting my 351w block preped for the 408 stroker kit and someone told me that i should get my block blueprinted....

they are not the same thing. balancing is for the rotating assembley. blue printing is work done on the block.

When you "blue print a block", a machine shop machines it to the perfect factor specs. It ids good that you using a older block as the will some times lose the tolerance if your using a new block and it heats for the first couple of times. make sute that your machine shop uses torque blocks to simulate the heads being installed.

The two are very similar terms and often used interchangably, but there is a lot more to engine balancing that just balancing the physical compenents - you need to look at dynamic balancing also which addresses compression balance and matching fuelling etc...
