HP is nothing if you cant get it to the pavement. is the $2000 for the whole project or just the engine? foxes are flexy get some sub-frame connectors too.

Good point, Check your local Craigslist listings for some used wheels and tires that will get some more traction, you can save a good chunk of $ that way! I got a set of Weld Draglites with some 26x10.5 ET Streets for 380 bucks and the both the wheels and tires were in great shape! Then I sold my pony wheels to the same guy for 200 bucks and a 70mm BBK EGR spacer.

dart block..with low like 9 something to 1 if you want that s/c and a trick flow kit and stroked to 331 or 347 you could easily be over 500hp..

Having done it both ways, Rustbelt is right. Power ain't dogsqueeze without traction, and speed kills if you can't stop it or steer it.

Put your first round of $ into stiffening the chassis (the unstiffened Fox is a wet noodle), the second round of $ on suspension and brakes (the older the Fox the worse the brakes) and then start on the drive train.

I've spent years and thousands and I can honestly tell you that any top end (I currently have a port matched Trick Flow Track Heat) will not give you anywhere near 360 HP without doing a bunch of other stuff, most of it either a little or a lot expensive. And whatever you do, don't put anything that makes it breathe better on an '86 or '87 that hasn't been converted to mass-air, or your $2000 will turn into $7000 in one pass.

Put that two grand into the body, tires, suspension and brakes. If the car's got a healthy (not worn-out) stock engine, it won't hook up in it's stock configuration anyway so work on that until you can't make it spin the tires. Then it's ready for more torque.

Anyone that has a $5000 turnkey 347 has cut corners somewhere. Stay away from them. Remember, you get what you pay for, sometimes less, but never more.

my 87 has no airbags and has forged pistons... only thing it didn't come with was MAF. I personally will never buy a MAF unless its used for forced induction...

i dont suggest putting the SC on the stock intake, cam and heads. they just wont breathe as good as that SC needs them too. Get the trickflow kit. Then suspension, then the SC or either suspension then the trickflow kit.

speed density is garbage, and i heard it runs like crap after u put some aftermarket goodies in it, EFI MAF is so much more efficient and u can fine tune it better
