heads question
im building a 85 5.0 motor to put in my 91 vert it has the old e6 heads and im wanting to put the e7 heads off of the newer motor on the 85 will i have any problems with the valve to piston clearence on the 85 motor has a e303 cam in it and does anybody know about porting the e7 heads i was told to grind off the egr bump on the exhaust side any help would be appreciated thanks and keep this forum going i read it everyday it helps alot

They should work fine. Check valve to piston clearnace to be safe. Leave the EGR bumps. The gain is minimal and the time it takes to grind the bumps out and recontour the port will take several hours. You'd be better off buying a set of GT40P heads if you want a better flowing head.
