Converting it
Alright, I just bought my first car. A 1989 Mustang LX Coupe. I was tolder there was originally a 5.0 in it. Well I checked out the vin and there never was, always was a 2.3
After some searching I found a used 5.0 HO 302 a guy was selling from an 86. He gave me the computer, wiring harness, drive shaft, fan and radd. I know I need to get a 8.8 rear if i want it to last, a tranny, re-run the fuel lines, and brake lines, tranny mount, clutch n flywheel and cables.. The egine is as old as me, the car body's almost there, so as you could imagine I dont know a whole lot. So if you think or see im missing anything plz drop a line. I'm open to any and all suggestions. This seems fairly easy to do in my mind, although I know a few things will get me once I get to em |

For dual exhaust you may need the "double Hump transmission mount if not already installed.
Mustangs Unlimited has one for around $50.00. Don't bother with the junk yard, most of these have rusted out tubes. Also you may need to set your factory Tach to 8 cyl to read properly. Always abunch of little things to remember. |
