Rear End Problem

I was adjusting my rear drums today, and I noticed that my rear differential has some oil on it, it was dripping or anything it was just there? I was thinking it was a gasket hopefully that's all? Thanks

Which material would be best for the new seal?
Rubber,
Silicone,
Fluoroelastomer,
VitonŽ,
TeflonŽ
And is it a seal or a gasket? Thanks
