I think ive got this problem figured out already but i want more opinions before i start fixing things.

Few months ago i was eating in my car and left it on (not cranked just radio and ac) finished up tried to start the car and it wouldnt start. Later got the car started and had the battery and alternator tested. Battery tested good but the alternator wasnt putting out like it should. I kinda waited a few weeks cause i just knew dont leave the car on and i would be good. Wrong I had the car on in a drive through and when i barely let up off the clutch and rolled alittle the car cut off and wouldnt come back on. Got it jumped off was fine for a week did it again last night. Ive got a 94 alternator that im going to put in this weekend (92 foxbody btw) and i think that this will be the end of my problems. Could there be anything else that could be causing this?

do you have underdrive pullies and a amplifier?

If it runs crappy clean the iac and the egr, check the fuel filter.

does it idle fine when you start it up cold or do you have to give it gas to keep it going?


and what mods have you done to it?

has the key switch ever been replaced?

from what i know the battery is good and the key switch has never been changed but i could be wrong. i had the alternator tested and the test came out bad. on cold start ups the car will start right up no prob and idle just fine. dont have any pullies or audio equipment that could interfere with the alternator but i am going to be putting some audio stuff in thats y i went with the 94 alternator instead so i wouldnt have to worry bout it
