Best Camshaft For 347?

im doing a 302 -> 347 for xmas and just wondering what camshaft would be good.

i dont get it.. everyone says custom ground... but does that mean you just specify what lift, duration, etc. you want?

just someone give me a link to a good camshaft for this application?

planning on doing 400 hp for now with the 347, and eventually s/c it after i stick a Dart in there (wayyyy future =D)

also what size MAF and t/b you guys suggest?

Do you have any more details about the engine?

Talk to some people on here and look for the post they have been helping me with the same thing lot of good peeps and help

I bet Woody can set you up with a cam when you buy the rest of the components.

really, dont waste ur money on ignition right now, u wont need it. the stock system will be fine until you s/c or spray on top of your stroker.\

btw, dont waste your money on the TF topend kit. talk to Jay Allen at Camshaft Inovations. he can hook you up w/ a set of Cainfields and a custom ground cam, and it will be worth every cent. i have heard only good about him, i havent had work done there myself, but if i need another cam. he will be my go to guy.

The reason you need a custom grind is beacuse your gonna build that engine with different heads/compression whatever else then the other guy. That is the reason why you need a custom grind. You need a cam built specificly for that engine the way it is setup and the way it runs. You can aso specify when you order the cam a street or strip only cam. Like you will be able to choose the power range it kicks in max power at. So this is the straight answer I guess you where looking for.

But if you want to buy an off the shelf one and not go custom grind I would go with the B cam from Ford racing but that will not be nearly as good as the first option

^^^ yeah...and an bcam in a stroker is stupid..thats a nice cam for an 302 with gt40 heads and intake...rlly basic...buts almost stupid to not go custom cam on a stroker, but he also said hes just going to stroke it and leave everthing stock...first off i say thats the stupidest idea i've ever heard..and 2nd WTF is the point of an cam in an stock motor...without and aftermarket intakes, it totally useless and w/out better flowing heads its almost totally uselss...

do more research into stroker motors and then come ask that question...just spend the $800-1000 that you will on stroking it on aluminum heads or intake and cam...either one is 10X smarter than stock stroker...
