Weight Comparison...


Im curious.. How much does an 85-86 LX weigh, compared to an 87-93 LX coupe? Which one is heavier... i used to know.. but my memory is poop these days. Thanks guys!

I know somebody knows this... help! If i recall, the 86 lx had a curb weight of 2800+lbs... actual weight is in the 3000 range? 3100? I hate having a crappy memory. Someone help!

I think they are roughly the same

i thought it was this
(roughly)
85/86 GT or LX weighed 3100lbs
87-93 LX weighed 3200
87-93 GT weighed 3350...

which is roughly what you guys said...either way there really isnt that much of a difference..

my gt is 3200 on empty.. but it has nothing taken out cept smog pump.. smog pump and plumbing takes that much out??

i think he was referring to the LX notchback.. the notchback is lighter than the hatchback, so the GT hatchback would weigh more than the LX notchback

Well lets see... the seats are heavier, there is 50 or so pounds of ground effects, the front bumper support has a lower steel piece on the GT only, fog lights, low coolant sensor, power mirrors, extra hardware and brackets, larger spoiler, additional wiring for those pieces, etc...

It all adds up...

exactly....good luck getting an bone stock GT w/ nothing removed to weigh under 3300 or so...that fog light bracket in the front weighs about 50/60lbs...and both bumper supports are another 20lbs or so a piece...ryans right..it adds up quick...

Yes, im referring to the LX Notchback. So they are about the same? I thought the 85-86 cars were slightly lighter.. i could be mistaken. Thanks for the info guys!
