Glass Headlights

Not sure. I just bought some from late model restoration and when I got the box open i realized it was plastic. Until then, I had no idea they came other than glass. I was expecting them to be glass...

yeah, most are plastic, but i'd be willing to pay the price for a nice set of glass headlights to keep the plastic ones from going dull

hmm, it probably wouldn't be glass unless they advertised it saying it was glass though. i'd rather have OEM than the one piece though

Well, if this makes it any better, the reason why I got new ones is because my glass ones were yellow... Seems to me like they are going to dull, fade, or yellow glass or plastic...

Then I remembered you have a 87+

To answer that why do you want glass headlight

They would break anytime a kicked up rock even grazed it

where'd you get glass headlights? the stock headlights are plastic if that's what you're talking about. and all our older cars that have glass headlights look perfect. not yellow or anything

i've never had any problems with rocks breaking the headlights in any of our older cars with glass headlights

Yeah in four eyed cars they crack sometimes when a nice rock hit them. I havent had it happend to me yet but I bought it and three of the headlights rock cracked.

And I think they dont make them for yours because glass bulbs are seald beam headlights and yours arent seald beam the only headlights I have ever seen that are glass are sealed beams.

My guess is to why they dont make glass ones is because non seald beam healdights need to have vents so they dont fog up and get water drops on the inside. And I think with glass they wouldnt vent as good and you would have condensation on the inside of the lense all the time

Mine were glass when I got the car. Are you sure the stock ones are glass? I thought mine were stock and another one I had was I think stock and it was also glass... So to answer your question, where di dI get my glass ones, I guess it came with the title

the stock headlights are supposed to be plastic

So if mine were glass and that is not stock, then where did they come from and why can't you find them? Heck, I'll sell you both pairs of mine... Or I can keep it as a collectable...

i have glass head lamps and i throw rocks at them as a hobby and they havent broked

The venting is done buy holes in the housing part.. A couple of small little holes takes care of that. There are usually holes in the rear housing part. Glass is not needed. All you need to do is every time before you wash your car spend 3-4 minutes with a terrycloth rag and some Mothers mag wheel polish and some elbow grease and buff the shit out of them and your plastic lights will never yellow out.. Dont wait until they get yellow b4 you do it.. Start from day one and it will never happen. After you do the Mothers put a coat of wax on them and its all good..
