Best Top End Kit?

What is the best kit that makes the best power... reliable is good as well.

ford racing kit with gt40 heas and cobra intake etc....
Holley systemax
trick flow street heat

Any input would be nice. In the market for a 5.0 as we speak, so I'm planning all mods out ahead of time.

I asked this same question a few weeks ago and got a lot of answers of the ones you have listed the trick flow is the best IMO...AFR Canfield and others are all good heads but from all of the info I got on here the trickflow are the way to go they are great heads and have a lot of room for porting and polishing even more.....what other mods do you intend to do?....if you dont know alot about matching heads intakes and cams trickflow has a total package you can do that everything is matched but what are you looking to do? what do you want out of the car?

i agree with Darrell on this one...make your own kit! I have a gt-40 upper and lower intake with 24lb injectors...f-cam..and trick flow twisted wedge heads milled .015 to make then 58cc and my car screams on the street..best 1/4 mile time was 12.32@119 on m&h tire with 4.11 gears... if your going to drive on the street alot.. i recommend 3.55 gears for gas mileage and engine life..and with gas over 3 beans a gallon..your crazy to run anything higher unless your gonna use it for all out drag racing...jut my opinion..good luck

You went 119 mph with a 12.32 ET? What was your 60 foot?

I wasn't sure if it was bad to mix and match the top end parts. I will be going with some steep gears I kid you not. 4:10's or possibly 4:30's but the 30's might be a tad more then I'm thinking. Gas isn't my Problem. I'm looking for some sort of combo thats capable of low 13's... Along with gears and h/c/i I want to basically do full exhaust. Long tubes, x pipe, to some good mufflers. If I could dip into 12's thats great, but To be honest Idk what a 5.0 is capble with all that so anyi info is appreciated.

60 foot mark...

Darrell,
It's been so long ago but if you want my best guess..it was probably a one fifty, sixty something ..i'd have to dig up the slip but my stang just beats up the street for now as it is undergoing some freshening up..

With that MPH and a 1.5xx 60' you should be in the mid to high 11s I would think. Something dont seem right.

If you only want low 13s buy a set of 3.73 gears and a set of slicks. That is all you will need assuming its an 87-93 fox body with a 5 speed.

The only reason I ask is because that is mid 11 second mph. That mph with that ET I'd assume you were spinning bad off the line.

I'm looking for 12's if its poissble. I just wasn't sure if it could be done with bolts ons, gears, and attacking the top end... It will be a 5 speed fox don't know if it's ganna be a gt, lx, or a notch though.

GT40P heads, explorer intake, good shifter, good shifting ability, 3.73s and 26x8.5 slicks. If you can drive that will net you 12.80s all day long. The more boltons (pulleys, etc) and the more weight you pull out of the car, the better. A good friend of mines winter beater went 12.80s with a similar combo. The only difference is he had 3.55 gears.
