New Toy To Play With...

In the never ending quest for optimal tuning..... I present you the newest addition to the 5.0....

And here is the sensor bung location about 10 inches down the downpipe from one of the turbos....

Hopefully I will be able to tweak the tuning to yet another HP level... it sure is cool to see what EXACTLY the motor is doing....
The unit you see is an INNOVATIVE MOTORSPORTS LC1 digital wideband Lambda sensor... it will help me provide optimal tuning with my MegaSquirt standalone EMS... It provides data logging along with my MegaSquirt, I'm pretty excited to take the car out and start tuning! ! ! Don't mind the mess of wires in the one pic, you have to calibrate the sensor before final installation, and I had everything roughly connected to do the calibration before final installation... The red button and the little red L.E.D. are all part of the wideband gauge system. The LED tells you what the system is doing by different series of flashes...i.e. sensor warming, sensor ready, or error code.... cool stuff...

I wish. One of the nitrous gurus on tech just put this on his 'Vette. I thought it was so damned cool! I wouldn't mind having one though once I finally get everything hooked up and have a little extra cash.

$399

...but it's so damned cool!

I should have my kit on by this time next month. I asked my old lady for a window switch and fuel pump. That's all I need to run everything safely. I've been saving up for a tune, so I should be able to get it in the shop and have everything tweaked before the new year hits.

No rug, just some old-ass dash cover to hide the light blue/and cracked dash, it came with the car.... You'll notice that I also turn all of my gauges on purpose... when the car is running and @ temp, all the needles wil be pointing in roughly the same direction (except the boost, which moves) I also have the tach twisted. That way, at a single glance, I can see if anything is outta wack. I prefer the tach to be twisted, so that my shift point is when the needle gets to 12 o'clock. Quite a few folks ask about that actually, especially when you look at the gauges from the passenger side, it is even more apparent how tweaked they are.

I like this. Who makes this gauge? Would be a nice addition for my nitrous setup.

Once the boost hits, the tires spin and its time to shift.... That why I have datalogging on my laptop..... I can't look at the gauges.... it's enough just driving the car
