Sticking Gas Cap Release Button (Glove Compartment)

I noticed the button in my glove compartment was sticking pretty good tonight, I had to push it about 15 times before the gas cap door actually popped open.So i could pump gas in my car. I am more into Motor works and Tuning, I have never tackled this little stuff before,

How can i fix this Problem? asap lol

89 mustang Lx, temp is around 30 degree's where i live currently if that might help. (sticking)

lol, Its either that or sticking from maybe a bad wire?bad Button? Bad senser? Not sure..

yes moss there is...just yank it open...wont hurt anything

It may bend the tab a little and cause your fuel door to stick out a little more than normal but you can bend it back later.

mine pops...but doesnt open...so i just yank it out **whoot whoot**...and no problems about it staying open past body line at all..closes fine too

in glove box..there should be an yellow and orange button...one hatch and ones fuel door

i just went and checked.. all mine has is the hatch release button.. my gas door has to be opened by hand

Yes, 89 was the last for that I believe. My 91 does not have one, my 88 does.

my 93 has both buttons but i guess they dont work cause nothing happens when i press them. i dont even see the motor near the hatch sooooo i got 2 pretty buttons :-) might as well name them "Warmer" and "Inject"

USE THE MANUAL LATCH OPENER,it is probably tucked underneath your carpet or behind the interior panel in the very back of your car
