Coast High 408 Shortblock?
forgot the usernames on the boards but i wanted to ask about the 408 shortblock
how much? how much hp can it handle? whats needed besides the top end stuff? im sure i will have other questions but feel free to pm me im looking to buy early next year (feb-mar) |

If you are referring to me, they are NOT CHP short or long blocks, we build and machine them in house. As far as how much, they start at 2099, cast crank, 5140 I beam, Probe Forged pistons, clevite rod and mains, total seal moly ring all packaged in an F4TE factory roller block, 99% of every other builder charges 200-300 extra for a roller block, this means standard hyd roller valve train, standard base circle cam. As to hp, 550 on the cast crank one, 650-700 on the forged steel short block, the block limits the h as the caps will walk around before anything breaks. Its a shortblock, you need to provide everything else.
