You need to make a final decision on what your building, N20 and turbo cars are completly different and need to be built differently. N20 cars like high compression (12 to 1)and have to be very well flowing motors but turbo motors like low compression (8.5 to1).
The cams are way different too, so with out a final on what your building your peeing $$$ into the wind.

If it's gonna be a daily driver and you've got aluminum heads shoot for around 10.0 - 10.5 : 1
Treat nitrous the same as N/A |

Ok, Im not the expert here so You might even want to ignore me but I was always under the impression that mid to lower compression was better for a turbo and higher compression was better for nitrous. If it were me, i would go with the turbo setup simply because from what I read, you want a badass daily driver. Think about it, youre not going to go cruising around town with your finger on the nitrous button. I wouldnt anyways. I say get the turbo setup.

Yea forced induction (turbo / blower) likes lower static compression, because when the air gets crammed in there the effective compresssion ratio can often be as high as 15:1 or more. Which is why alot of timing has to be pulled from blower / turbo cars to run on pump gas. The more static compression you run the less boost you can run with the same octane gas - because your effective compression ratio (compression aftter factoring in the boost) is what matters.
Nitrous cars don't force in any extra air, thereby the static compression ratio is practically the same as the effective compression ratio. So, you'll treat a Nitrous car the same as a N/A car when choosing compression ratio - the more the merrier when it comes to power. |
