Alternator Goin Out... Time For 3G Conversion? Info On Good Upgrade

So my alternator started goin out tonight....its only running a lil over 12 volts.
I tested by disconnecting the battery while it was running and it died

I have heard of some guys doing a 3g conversion.....what does this mean and what all do i have to buy.....I know stangzilla said hes running a 3g with like 130 watts and has underdrive pulleys and still has full charging so if you read this stangzilla could you hook me up with a link.

Any suggestions

Yes I do have a 3G alt. And its 130 amp not watts..lol Anyway its an easy conversion. its just a matter of cutting the old plug off splicing in the new one and mounting the alt. I got mine of a company on Ebay. It has a lifetime warranty and it works great.. Here is the guy I got mine from. Good dude quick response.. Recommend..

Don't get a powermaster! I have a 140a from them and have had nothing but problems, partly because I bought it through Advance Auto... crooked bishes...

My Powermaster lasted about 2 years. Decide to get a lifetime unit from O'Reilly's since you have to mail charges to get the new Powermaster. I can pick up the new O'Rielly's any day of the week in 5 minutes.

Because the stock Mustang alt is as close to shit as you can get.. Not worth it. The last thing you want is to have something like a nitrous solenoid or something important to not work.. They are what like 60 amps or something crappy like that...

I have an aftermarket alt bracket kit and I had to grind it a bit. Took me about 10min just by doin alittle at a time.. As far as the wire goes mine came with a plug that I had to install so I dont know. If I were to guess is that the alt is mounted to the chassis so it is already grounded. Did you buy it from the Eagle Electric guy? If so give him a call I had a question for him and he called right back and was very helpful. I would buy from him again..

Actually if I disconnect the battery on my 93 it stays running. I know some cars you cant but mine works without the battery hooked up..
