My Stroker Combo

Alright, so far this is what ive got down on paper for my big inch stroker/car setup. Thanks to everyone that has helped me to get this far.. i would most certianly be lost without some of you... you know who you are

The combo isnt complete as of yet, so this is just a rough run through, with minor specs. More detailed specs when i make my final decisions.

Shortblock: World Products MOW 9.500" (Zero decked). Forged Diamond pistons (4.125"/10cc dish). Forged Probe lightweight 4340 I-beams (6.200"). Forged 4340 steel crankshaft (4.100"). Clevite bearings, and piston rings. High volume oil pump, Canton windage tray with canton pan. *ARP fasteners will be used everyhwere. Compression (10.55:1). Displacement= 438ci

Heads:TFS-R CNC ported 225cc. (61cc com/chamber.. 2.080 intake/1.600 ex.) Springs, retainers, locks, rockers, valves have all been un-decided. I wont know until i make a final decision on the cam. Im still trying to decide if i want to use these heads, and not the TFS CNC Hi-port race heads.

Induction & Camshaft: Still trying to decide on carbureted or EFI. Most likely EFI, with a TFS-R 351w lower manifold, and Box-R upper. Accufab 90mm TB. CPR Fuel rails, with CPR AFPR. Not 100% sure on injectors, but in the 50lb/hr range. AFM 4in PP (if i can still use it). Camshaft will definetly be a custom grind, solid roller in the .600" range. I'll have final specs when i communicate with the cam provider. The rest of the valvetrain will be matched to the cam and heads.

Fuel System: Sumpted tank, factory located. Aeromotive A1000 pump (submerged). -10 AN feed, -8 AN return.

Poweradders: My current 200hp EFI Dry, single nozzle NX/AFM Nitrous system.

ECU/EMS/Ignition: Anderson Ford PMS Tuner/EEC-IV with S4 InterLog 4.0 data logger and EF-LIPD software for 50+lb/hr injectors. MSD Billet Distro with D7 box.

Exhaust/Headers: Kooks 1" 7/8 LTs. Dr. Gas 3" O/R X-pipe, 3" borla XR-1s.. (already have them on the shelf) Car will have full exhaust, all the way to the factory located tips.

Transmission & Accessories: Not 100% positive YET, but looking at a G-Force T5, with near stock gear ratios. Im still researching clutchs... trying to find something to hold 800lb/ft of torque and still have a decent pedal. Im leaning towards Exedy or Spec. Well see.

Rearend & Suspension: This is where im stuck right now. The suspension will stay stock type, but i havent considered my options yet for replacement parts. I do know that my gearing will be in the 3.73-3.90 range. 5-lug, 33 spline, with modified diff (not sure yet).

Front Suspension: QA1 Tubular Kmember, QA1 tubular control arms. QA1 Adjustable Coil overs, MM caster/camber plates. FR steering rack. SSBC brakes (also on the rear, with 5 lug). No sway bar (atleast not for the track).

Thats just a BASIC run down, when ive made all the decisions, i'll share it all in detail. I know ive missed alot of areas, but this gives you guys a good idea of where im going.. which i hope, is in the right direction. I open to constructive criticism and or other ideas. Thanks for your help everyone!

Anthony

Don't mill the block all the way down if you don't need to.IMO

10.50:1 compression will work just fine with nitrous. Plenty of race cars today have 14:1 with nitrous.. sometimes higher.

I'd like for it to be zero decked. If i dont have to mill the block, i wont.. but it may need too if the circumstances require it.

I'd still leave a bit, alot can happen, Ive dropped a cyl. head right on the deck of a friends engine, and gouged it pretty good, needed milling, on the other hand I honnestly haven't had the need to other than that one time, and I haven't heard of too much warping. I just figure murphy's law into everything I do.

LOL.. yeah, ive actually had that happen to me too. I'll see what Woody says.. and what he would do in my situation. But your right, its good to leave some to work with, incase of accidents.

You HAVE to mill the aftermarket block decks, leaving it alone is silly. Needs to be squared.

Well, that solves that. Woody, would you be interested? If so, what would the cost be to fully machine and prep the block to the reciprocating assembly?

Its 99% decided that im switching my plan to a production 351w block, and going with 418ci. Just waiting on my taxes. Woody, im guessing shipping will be about $220ish to 33594? I could be wrong.

Indeed. I just dont have the budget for a high dollar block. Plus, the power im looking for is plenty safe with a production block.

Just so you are aware, your listed combo is just over 12:1 not 10.55:1.

if you want it to be lower than 12.1 use a 64 cc comb chamber and it should be around 10.5.1
