Mini Tubs?
Who has ran them on there car and are they hard to install?I plan on mini tubbing mines because I am working on my suspension and tires etc. So my car can be ready for my 363 or 347 dart setup.(Hopefully with Darrell's old heads on it)

fixed heads I hope. a mini tub in a fox requires a rear coil over kit, and cutting and welding, in short.

yea i'm pretty sure, the shocks would be in the way for a mini tub. they mount in the wheel well. Darrell has a mini tub set up, he knows better than me on the topic.

unless you are really pushing the power, ya prolly don't need a set up like that, you can fit a 10.5 slick on a 10" rim with 5.5" back spacing on a stock fox, and that tire size will take you all the way into the 9s

Also, you can run 325/60/15's which is plenty of tire for a 347. Like it has been said before, all you need is a BFH..(big fawkin hammer).

I have 11.5 inch tires on a 6 inch backspace with a little fender work. I've seen 1.50 60 foots with no sign of traction loss and I only have about $400 in my suspension total.

+1. No need for mini-tubs. Go as fast as you can with the smallest tire you can hook with. If your only making 500-600hp... experiment with an 8.50 first.. and if your not getting enough traction, or stability.. then step up to a 10.50. The biggest mistake people make these days is thinking they need a huge tire, to hook very little power (500-1000hp). That may have been true 15 years ago, but today, with advanced tire technology.. you can go fast, on a relatively small tire.

A mini tub is not necessary. The only reason I did it in my black car was so I could lower the car so it was damn near on the ground. I had my rear axle narrowed about an inch on each end as well. There's no mini tubs in my red car and it 60 foots 1.34 with a 28x10.5 tire.

He also had that little truck running 12s...in the 1/8th. Even brought the time slip to "brag" about it.
