Spark Plugs

i'll be buying a set of spark plugs pretty soon, but i don't know what kind to get.. do any of yall have a particular brand that yall go with? i noticed that they range anywhere from less than $2 to over $14.. will the more expensive ones perform better or last longer? i'd like to hear some input.. thanks

Stock plugs will be fine. If you want your car to run like a new, stock car, put new, stock parts on it.

You know, like Turbo said

Autolite, NGK, Champion, etc. They all spark and ignite the air fuel mixture.

I've been told buy several engine builders that platinum plugs have no place in a performance engine because platinum is a poor conductor of electricity which is why they last forever because they don't wear much. I'm sure someone else can touch on this that is in the chemical field. Ryan or someone here had a degree in chemistry or something like that I think I remember seeing somewhere. The iridium plugs are a joke too. Joe Sherman tried a set at the engine masters challenge because Denso was a sponsor and he lost 8 horsepower.

its true....when you go from fouled plugs to new plugs though....not another brand...its anywhere from 1% to 15 or 20% but your plugs have to be pretty bad......while your at it chnage your wires too....

I want to use Bosch Spark Plugs, but have modified my engine by adding a performance system. Can I still use the plug listed in the catalog for my vehicle?

Does technology used in racing plugs find its way into Bosch Premium plugs?YES! Racing, as it has for 100 years, provides a great developmental impetus and test bed for spark plug durability and performance, and what is learned at Indy or Darlington, or Le Mans helps improve the spark plugs installed in today’s cars or trucks. From the first Indy 500 won by Ray Harroun’s Marmon Wasp to the last 17 Indy 500 winners, and many in between, each have used Bosch spark plugs. Many premium passenger car spark plugs use multiple ground electrodes and precious metals, such as platinum, which are a direct result of their development and testing in long distance racing.

If you have modified your engine with a performance system such as a turbocharger, supercharger, or nitrous, the recommended spark plug may not be correct. You may need to use a plug with a colder heat range to compensate for the additional heat generated by the engine. Bosch recommends that in these situations, you consult a qualified engine builder for assistance in determining the appropriate heat range.
