yeah i know ive been posting alot of probs lately but trying to get the car straight before the weather gets to bad. ive been hearing a very weird grinding noise coming from the rear end. i was told it was the fuel pump cause when i stop it will make the grinding noise then when i pull off u wont hear anything. i plan to replace the fuel filter but if u guys also think its the pump i will change both but i have been hearing that could just be a stopped up fuel filter. any suggestions

Sounds like more like a gear problem than a feul problem. I just replaced my sending unit and the filter. I have never heard of a fgrinding noise coming from the pump. It just doesn't grind though it may make a whining sound if it is clogged.

ok try this, turn your ignition to the ON position but dont turn the car on, the fuel pump will prime the system, if you hear the loud noise , its your pump

i mean when i used to turn the car on it would be the loud humming noise and now its like a faint sound except for when i stop u can hear it again which its never done. my mechanic had the car a few weeks ago and was driving it and said it sounded like the fuel pump fell into the bottom of the tank
