Any One Autocross There Foxs?
im planning on doing a lot of racing and all different events...
drag, street, autocross, open track etc lots of people say that the stock sway bars on the foxs are thich and heavy enough for cornering and you should spend your money else where, but im considering buying the eibach antiroll kit (front and rear sway bars) i found the kit on ebay for 300 so im like hell yea springs/struts/sway bars/ strut bars/ camber caster plates my stang is going to handle any opinions? suggestions |

If you haven't already, get all the chassis bracing you can. MM has a chassis brace kit, I highly suggest it.
They don't call 'em Flexy-Foxes for nothin'. Also, if you're trying out different events, focus the most on the driver mod. A solid platform to work from will really help, but you don't want to spend money on mods that you end up either later replacing with better ones for what you end up doing the most, or worse, replacing with stock components as you find out the rules prohibit what you installed! I learned that the hard way when I put poly bushings in my Corolla. No more stock class for me! Luckily my rally series was much more forgiving! Learn the limits of you stock car first. When you feel that you're constantly being restrained, that's the time for mods. At that point you'll have a damn good idea of what the car is and isn't doing. If you don't know whether or not the stock sway bars are good enough, how can you say that these aftermarket ones would be better? Sure, they're definitely better for certian drivers doing certain kinds of driving, but how do you know they're better for you with the way you drive?

yea i was about to say look at Maximum Motorsports :: The Leader In Mustang Performance Suspension they have been very helpful when talking to them...
here is what they told me to look at You should install these items (In order of priority) * Tokico D-Specs…but only if the original shocks and struts are bad! (part# DSP-4) * XL Series Full Length Subframe Connectors (part# MMFL-3PC) * Strut Tower Brace (part# MMSTB-4.1) * Front Control Arms (part# M-30075-D) * Rear Lower Control Arms (part# MMRLCA-2) * Rear Upper Control Arms (part# M-5500-A) & Diff Bushings (part# E4SZ-5A) * Caster Camber Plates (part# MMCC9994) * Steering Rack Bushings (part# MMST-7) * Panhard Bar (part# MMPBA) * Eibach Swaybar System (part# 3518.320) * Eibach V6 Specific Pro Kit (part# 3518.140) & New Urethane Spring Isolators (part# 6-1703-BL & 6-1701-BL) your part numbers will be different but thats a great starting point to a streetable autocross car

i have BBK 3" lowering springs, KYB AGX struts (70/30), KYB Adj shocks (50/50), eibach front and rear street sway bars, MAC caster camber plates
and after x-mas should have competition engineering sub frame connectors BBK grippe control arms BBK strut tower brace and will get welded torque boxs soon...doesnt handle good with skinnies up front but with my 16X8 winter beaters handles like an dream..rides kinda rough cuz of springs...

If you can swing it go with MM. Im running the K-member,CC Plates, contorl arms front and rear, Coil overs with Bilstiens (Daily driver), Torque arm and Pan hard bar. The subs are BBK, the car handles like a dream. Excellent tracking, little dive almost zero roll.

i would get the kit as well. its going to be hard to get the car to be a jack of all trades and preform to its best. for you adjustability is going to be key. good luck.
and i think there might be an autocross forum in here. |
