This is one of my old posts under a different name. I forgot my password, so I just opened a new account. I got no replies when I posted this before but I was just seeing if anyone could shed some new light on it for me. The machine shop that did the valve job on the heads didn't even know what they were, so im hoping that someone here will know. I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how to. Thanks guys.

Are they possibly a set of old trickflow's? The valves look a bit twisted to me like the TW are done. It might just be an optical illusion with the way the picture was taken. I don't think any other head companies allign the valves like that offcanter do they?

When I bought the car the guy told me they were Trick Flow heads but when I took them out, there were no markings on them at all as far as a brand goes. Its not an illusion the valves are staggered a little bit so thats why I thought they might be Trick Flows but I would assume they would have put their name on the heads somewhere.

Well back in the day trickflow made the high port heads but I don't know if they were twisted like that or not and since that was a while ago maybe they didnt engrave their name in the head back then. I am not sure on that.

I would call trickflow and see if you can send them those pictures and give them those numbers and see if they mean anything to them.

Those look like the old Will Burt Street Heat heads from the late 80s.

Yes. They are similar to the current Twisted Wedge heads.

Thanks. Do the cc's really look that small? I looked at the Twisted Wedge heads and they looked like the same cc to me. Im just curious because I dont want to put them on if my compression is going to be really high. Although I dont even know if the cc size can even change that.

Sweet, thanks guys. I e-mailed Trick Flow and attached the pics so now im just waiting to hear back from them. But I feel a lot better about the heads. I was worried they were junk.

i would still take them to a machine shop and have them torn down and check out the valves and valve guides. Trickflow had a bad vavle guide design in their earlier heads. Which turned out to be a problem. I know first hand I lost my complete long block to a set when mine dropped a valve. Took them off the car and to my local machinist and he showed me how much sloppy room was inbetween the valve guides and the valves. Like throwing a hotdog down the hallway!

+1 on what he said and good job remembering that. I remember that problem with the valves in the early TF's cause it happened to a friend of mine who was the first ford guy I knew to have those heads.

The problem was oil burning due to bad valve guides, not dropping valves. Dropping valves is totally unrelated to bad valve guides.
