Team scp1??

I recieved a call from some guy named DJ, and he apparently wants to sponsor me. The team is called sport car performance, or team mean machine. They seem very fishy to me, if anybody knows anything about these guys can you let me know before i make a huge mistake.

Use your favorite search engine (Google) and look for "Team scp1 scam" or "teamscp1 scam". Answers are only a few keystrokes away.

From what I see, looks like a scam, or to be a little more open minded, I'd say it is not a good deal and they appear to blast forum users with their sponsorship requests.

From what I've read in the last 10 minutes of various search results, this is a long post so ignore it if desired.

Slick business people that prey on those whose eyes light up when they hear "sponsor", imagine how cool it would be to tell people you have a sponsor! Team SCP1 apparently does set up booths at some shows and they have really nice salesman and are very friendly, well no shit, it is a vendor booth at an event. They seem to be a middle man that claim to save you money or get you discounts on car stuff. The discounts are based on MSRP which in theory are discounts but may not be a discount when compared to real street prices for the same thing. Some people do talk about getting really good deals and act as spokesman saying how great SCP1 is but I've seen references that you get bigger discounts or some type of compensation for signing up other people. It also appears you have to provide money or application fee for them to sponsor you, kind of like a buy in to get a potential discount. When they reference that you are eligible for a $12K sponsorship, that does not mean you get $12K worth of stuff, you get $12K worth of discounts of their MSRP. They also appear to have employees or reps that hang out in some forums that claim that the application process is very strict and sponsorship is limited but I found a post where some dude requested a membership stating he had some bogus car that did not exist and he was approved and the bogus car name he typed in the app (including the misspelled words) was in his approval letter.

Too me, it sounds extremely shady and with the incentive to sign up others, you have no real idea if those people are telling the real story or not, as for the discounts people claim they got when ordering through scp1, did these people really know what the real street price was to even claim that they got a good deal? Again, I have no experience with SCP1 and only first heard about them about an hour ago so my thoughts above are based on reading what others have posted. Seems clear to me what is going on here though. My assumption? Not as bad as a pyramid scheme but more like a trapaziod Stay away.

Scam! Its rare to have someone approach you to offer a sponsorship. Businesses offer products and services as sponsorships. You have to sell yourself to them and prove to them that they will benefit from having their name associated with you. This Team SCP is simply a business using a fake sponsorship offer to sell products.
