Trying to get my 347 to fire, Help please!

Ok, to make things quick, I put in a 347 shortblock, AFR 185 series heads, Edlebrock Performer RPM manifold, and nasty comp cam that will give me about .580 lift at the valves and the pistons are cut for .600. I used pretty much everything else stock. All my pulleys, mass air, throttle body, egr, etc.

Everything is in the car and ready to go, even fluids... One problem. NO SPARK!!! I cant figure it out. All of my wiring is correct but it just wont throw a spark when I turn it over. I am using the stock ignition/firing system. I have heard a lot of bad things about the 94-95 computers but I would think It would still fire. Any Ideas? any.... please. I am running out of patients with this thing.

if u have power and ground to the coil and no spark the u have a bad coil..

You are running stock injectors and mass air with a 347 with AFR 185 heads?

It will run but I would go bigger.. At least 24lb if you dont plan on boost or nitrous..

u might be able to get away with 24lb but i am building my 347 stroker with gt40 topend and i am going to be running 39lb injectors. 19 lb with afr's no way....

thats what I think. It will run but it will be lean as a bitch.. I run 42's with my 347cid with AFR 185's. 36's would be perfect if he is running all motor..

ya i was going to get 36 but i got a good seal on my 39lb injectors..

I too got a really good deal on them + when all said and done and I get used to this nitrous thing I will be shootin 200+hp and I am already puttin down over 400RWHP on motor.. I would say I have the right injectors..

you do just not everyones 347 makes that kinda power

thats partly true.
if the pickup in the dizzy is bad the coil wont spark either. the pickup tells the coil to spark.

I would guess it would run a lot better with 30 lb/hr injectors and a wet kit, but if you want to go with a huge injector and run a dry kit, have fun. Even a PMS can't get you down to a pulsewidth short enough to lean out the idle with 42 lb/hr injectors on a 347 unless you drop your fuel pressure to about 20 PSI. That's all I'm saying. I already don't like the off idle response with 30 lb/hr injectors (on my 89 302).

Anyway, I think my injector is bigger (see pic).

none of you guys injector set up is as bad as mine......the guy i bought the car from put 36 lb injectors in the car and its almost bone stock right now....not to mention that are crappy injectors that he got used.....the plastic on the squirt end of them is broke on most of them.....im gettin 24 lbers with the vortec im buyin from airforcesvt1 and im gettin his afr 185s to go with it.....im just ready to drive my car with that stuff in it
