There's about a million posts about this. Trickflow has a nice kit and so does holley. They're both around 2400. Not sure how much it would take to kill your wallet. Or you could build your own combo. You could find some used iron gt40 gt40 p heads off an explorer and the upper and lower intake and pick up say a used f303 cam for about 900 all together.

How fast do you want to go and how much money do you have to spend. You have to answer those questions before anyone can give you a good recomendation.

GT40P heads, Explorer intake, a mild off the shelf cam such as one of the Trick Flow grinds or a Comp Cams or even an Anderson and matching valve springs. A set of 3.73 gears too if you don't already have a good gear set in the car.
That would be a good start and would make a noticeable difference.

The difference is minimal. There is a bigger difference in gas mileage than acceleration. I've done this comparison before a few times.

Listen to what Darrell said! Decide how much, how fast, and how friendly.
It's not glamorous, but if I were tight on cash, I'd contact Thumper of Orange Park and investigate one of his head packages. He can provide you with ported E7's or GT-40s, cam, timing chain, and other bits that can put you in the 13's or 12's for under a $1,000.00. Just remember, to paraphrase Smokey Yunick, "the motor don't know the name on the heads" and "fast is fast". I use an Edelbrock, GT-40, intake, X303 set up on my 347. (You can see the whole set up on my webpage under the title "All the Details") No doubt I'm giving up some horsepower, but it's fast enough to scare the snot out of me from time to time. And, it was what I could afford. Good luck on your choices. Jim
