cam choice


Hey guys,
I been reading around on the forum and decide to go with a 347 stroker kit. but will my ecam work with it here is a list of parts i have. Oh, is there a better flowing intake then the cobra.
Z304A heads
BBK Throttle Body 70mm
C&L 73mm MAF
MAC Cold Air
FRPP 24lbs Injectors
FRPP 255lph Fuel Pump
Ford racing Flywheel
Ford racing Clutch 10.5 king cobra
Cobra Intake
BBk Long Tube headers
bbk h-pipe
MangaFlow exhaust

Ecam But will to part to a friend who needs a cam upgrade

oh please don't use an e-cam with those badass heads. honestly its not gonna have good results. if i were you (man i sure wish i had those heads) i would talk to Jay Allen about designing a cam for you. he will make that thing fly. i would also consider a different intake. that one is going to be a pretty big restriction on your engine. trickflow, edelbrock, and holley all have good manifolds that will flow a ton more than the cobra.

Dude if you could do that please i be so greatful, soon as i get the cam i try to find any engine dyno here in dallas to see what number I'm hit hopefuly around 400-450.

no no, i didn't say that i would talk to Jay, i said if i were you i'd talk to Jay. give him a call or contact him through one of the many message boards that he is a member of. your goal doesn't sound unreasonable at all.

yeah jay or ed would be fine...i guess jay is a big attraction now cuz he's a little newer up on his technology...comp does decent custom grinds...

and i'd have to agree with those heads and a nice custom grind cam, seans right about 36-42lbers would be great..

and btw there are alot of intakes that flow better than the cobra, the cobra is a decent street or mild application intake, but for that set-up a holley systemax, edelbrock performer rpm II or CHP spyder intake would do that thing right!!!!

Old school alphabet cam made by Ford Racing. Its in a series of other cams. B,E,F,X,Z. Back in the day, they were the shyt to have, today... well, they're not the shyt anymore.

On the site they have some sheets you can fill out to order a cam, unless you know your car WELL, dont bother, just call him, tell him what you want, tell him the mods you have as well. he will hook you up.

yeah but you have to know every single detail about your heads intakes valves motor tranny car everything in major detail... I was lucky cause woody had all my specs and he got it all taken care of with jay...I had called ed first before talking with woody about jay and he started asking me some really detailed stuff gear ratios and gasket thickness, what color underwear I had on I mean a lot of questions after I replied I dont know on 2 of 388 questions he said well call me back when you figure it out....but I have heard good things about his work...

Yeah, cam selection is based on a plathura of variables. There isnt really enough info up there to really make even a guesstimate.

good stuff. on a related note, do not send him a completed sheet until you are ready to order the cam. a spec sheet = placing your order.
