44's are the American Thunder series. And the Original 40's are the loudest muffler Flowmaster makes. They are very loud

wrong the super 44 isnt in the american thunder series...its the delta flow 40...the super 44 is its own line of muffler and has "supposidly" is the loudest/ most agressive interior and exterior sound..the super 44 has a little bit of a rasp to it...the original 40 series (non delta flow design) is truely the loudest of them all, and no rasp what so ever..with a set of longtubes and no cats promised to deliver most agressive sound EVER...

I always thought the 30s were the loudest. Even still, they all suck IMO (performance wise)

Why would you say that?

I don't think there has ever been a muffler proven to produce more power than the flows.

Jordan >

For along time now, the street style flows have shown to be on the lower half of performnace, its really nothing new. Alot of people havent had time to catch up yet.

Well, not nessicarily to everyone. The majority of enthusiasts dont really have complex combinations, making alot of power. On small/moderate effort engines, they dont make much of a noticalbe difference. With max effort engines, or high performnace street/strip engines... the difference is much more noticable, and thats normaly where you realize it. On a bone stock 5.0? Heh, they actually help, only because the stock exhaust is like forcing a baseball down a straw.

I've never seen any dyno results that suggested another muffler was better than the good ole flows.
Unless you consider magazine articles sponsored by the muffler companies they are being compared against.

Anyone have more information other than hearsay?

I love when someone says "I have never seen." You are one person, and there is millions of engines out there, thosands of dynos, and literally countless combinations and hardware. You havent possibly seen it all. Neither have I. Although, i have seen.. first hand, in person.. on an engine dyno.. flowmasters make less power than comparible dynomax, borla and magnaflow mufflers. Lets not get started with race mufflers, because flowmaster doesnt even get close in that department. Remember the thread on backpressure recently? Remember when i said ive spent hours being present with dyno sessions, and had a hand in testing? I wouldnt call that "hearsay"
