fox body 5.0 in 94-95

First off I should say I am sorry. I am sure this has been asked plenty of times but I just can't seem to get the right results with the search tool. So like I said... Sorry.

I have a 1987 Mustang GT which is fun to drive on the rare summer days. however the body has fallen into a bit of disrepair. If I fix up the car I am looking at about 5000 for the paint a slight body work. Now I am a beleave in getting it to go fast before you make it look fast. So all the money for the car has been into a new engine and engine type modifications.

So my question is it physically possible to swap a 5.0 with an ATX into a 94-95. well I should say with out braking the bank. Figure two grand for the doner care should be fine. I see the intake manifold is a little diffrent but how about wiring and all that. I would like to keep the computer, engine, and transmission.

Thanks,

Steve L.

You don't need the elbow if you are bringing your own throttle body, MAF, etc... from the donor car. Finding a good 94-95 roller for 2K might be a problem.

+1 that will be the hardest part finding the car..if u were to put it in a car from 96-2004 u would proly want to go carbd it would be a lil easier then dealing with electronics...

I'll see if i can get some pics. The car itself has superficial rust nothing rusted through on the body panels. Under the car a different story. It seams time has taken it's tole. the frame seem to have a good bit of rust and when jacking up the care i can see the frame crush. so getting a whole new body would be great. I only say 94-95 since they came with modified 5.0's. if i can get a new 96+ for the same work that would be great. Plus I think it would be a little easier to find.

so what would i need for a 96+ 5.0 conversion?

94-95's motor are the same as foxes and have no mods done to them.It would be alot of trouble to swap a 5.0 into a 96 b/c of wiring and a few other little things but it can be done

you will have a ton of extra wiring and vacuum stuff that you wont need to hook up though, that I would get rid of. good luck.
