First of all, what year engine are you dealing with.as far as I know only vintage
65-73 engines run with a 28 oz counter balance. And yes you have to balance the harmonic balancer to 28 oz also IF IT'S AN OLDER ENGINE.You can still buy new flex plates/flywheels & harmonic balancers with that offset. If you are dealing with a newer 5.0 engine 1974 to ??? YOU MUST RUN A 50 oz offset at both the balancer & flywheel/flex plate, also still available new.Bigdmustangs.com or e-mail bigdmustng@aol.com |

83-93 are 50 oz. Everything else is 28 oz.

A lot of strokers use 28 oz...I think that is what the OP is talking about, right?
in that case you need both a 28 oz flywheel (flexplate for you) and dampener.

No your 95 is 50 oz, if your stroker kit requires 28 oz, then you need 28 oz balancer and flexplate. If your stroker requires 50 oz, then you can use your stock components.

Pretty much anything SFI approved is good enough for me. I think professional products makes some pretty decent and reasonably priced dampeners. TCI and fluidampr make some more upscale products.

oh wtf, I was talking about 28oz balance lol, not rollers, old age is a bitch. They made the 50 oz switch in the 81-82 model year.

Maybe you're right.... I'm not bickering this is just normal conversation. The standard rule years back was 85+ on mustangs. If it was mid year changes maybe I just haven't seen it yet.
