Tuning

What exactly does a good tune consist of, and the dollar amount with the tune? i know i need my timing done, is that part of the tune? it is a 90 lx 5.0 auto if that helps at all. Thanks

dude, there are so many things that a "tune" could mean. pretty much you buy big strong metal parts and put them on, that changes how the car runs. hopefully for the better. generally a "tune" is a way of getting your changes to work out best. that includes timing, a\f ratio, maf voltage, injector duty cycle(or pulswidth), timing curve tables, exct...

ok thanks, i thought it was more of just oil change, plugs, wires, dist. cap...stuff like that but apparently i was wrong. thanks for the info

That is a tuneup, which falls under maintenance.
