engine specs


does my 90lx motor have forged pistons and a steel crank? ive heard differrent stories about the engine

the 1990 5.0 had forged internals

they didnt start hypernotic (or how ever you spell it) untill the 93 5.0

To correct this, they had TRW style forged pistons up till 93 and every 5.0 has forged rods and a CAST crank.

TRW is a cheap brand of forged pistons, they are strong, but heavy as shit. I think that is where ford sourced the forged pistons in the pre-93 HO motors.

TRW was the premeire piston of choice back in the day, nothing better back then. They were contracted by ford to supply those 302 slugs along with a zillion other applications
