Sick Of Chevys

im new to the forum. I really am looking into getting a 5.0 mustang. Im only 17 but I've owned two cars so far, both being chevys. I had a 1975 datsun 280z that i put a 350 into, that wasnt bad. but about 2 months ago i bought a 1997 trans am with an lt1 in it and its an absolout pos. my brother and i are building a 65 mustang and my mom owns a 2001 gt convertable thats awsome, so i figured i should continue the trend. Im selling my trans am and would like to have a car thats as fast if not faster then a lt1 4th gen f-body.

I live in CA so i have to deal with smog nazis. Can you put a decent cam in the 302s and still have them pass?

What do bolt on 5.0s generally run?

What kind of numbers can a smog legal h/c/i cars make?

With basic bolt ons a fox 5.0 can run 13's well.

On a fox with h/c/i (TFS sounds good) about 300+ HP and met some people that have gone high to mid 12's, who knows maybe there some one in here with almost the same combo that has gone low 12's.
