Evap (Charcoal Canister)

on my 89 mustang the charcoal canister sits on the frame in front of the engine on the passenger side, anyway when i was under the hood i noticed that the canister only had one line coneected to it and it goes to the intake manifold and there is another port on the canister that has no line/hose connected to it at all, is that suppose to be like that???

x2. fuel vent line goes to that port. vacuum hose goes to Canister Purge solenoid then on to the intake manifold vacuum port on the front of the manifold.

it will not hurt anything.. all it does I think is filters out fumes with the charcoal

You may need it for emissions testing, so check out your local regs.
